Accountant
Provides financial management services for LifeQuest Organ Recovery Services including responsibility for the general ledgers, accounts payable and receivable, auditing, budgeting, organ billing, purchasing, and lease contracts. Oversees the day to day general accounting operations and monitors budgets and financial activities for (8) organ cost centers, (1) administrative cost center including Gainesville and four satellite offices in Jacksonville, Tallahassee, Pensacola and Panama City, Florida. Prepares quarterly financial reports including revenue, expenses, and statistical organ data for the OPO Executive Director, Medical Director, and VP of Operations. Prepares annual financial reports to the Agency for Healthcare Administration (AHCA), Reimbursement Accounting, and Cost Accounting. Participates in LifeQuest Quality Assurance Meetings.
Qualifications: Bachelor of Business Administration, with major in Finance, Accounting or Management. Two to four years experience in the health care field preferred. Must have working knowledge of Access software, fiscal analysis, and computer applications including but not limited to word processing and spreadsheet development. Prefer individual with demonstrated knowledge in D&B purchasing and accounting software, and accounts receivable People Software. This position requires a person with initiative and the ability to take on responsibilities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Must be organized, versatile, and able to work independently and have a complete understanding of routine accounting functions and generally accepted accounting principles.

Organ Procurement Coordinator
Candidate will respond to donor referrals from local hospitals and ensure that each referral is reviewed for donation suitability. Will work with families to obtain consent for donation and manage the physiology of the donor to ensure maximum availability of organs for transplantation. Will work with transplant hospitals to place organs according to UNOS guidelines and assist in the recovery of organs in the operating room. Must demonstrate ability to assess data reflective of the donor's status and interpret appropriate information needed to provide excellent donor medical management. Excellent interpersonal skills required.
Qualifications: Candidate will be a graduate from an RN or PA program with one year of experience in ICU, ED or the OR; or certified paramedic with five years experience in trauma, ICU or emergency care; or respiratory therapist with five years experience in ICU or emergency care; or an individual that has six months to one year of practical experience as an Organ Procurement Coordinator. Previous organ/tissue donation experience preferred for all candidates.

Donor Family Services Coordinator (part-time)
Responsible for coordinating projects, programs, special events and communication for families of organ donors throughout a 36-county donation service area under the direction of the Director of Public Relations. Responds to the needs of donor families by developing and implementing appropriate after-care services, including grief counseling and bereavement support. Collaborates on other LifeQuest projects and campaigns as needed. Must demonstrate ability to work independently, find creative solutions to problems and develop innovative ideas.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, health sciences, social work or other related field OR two years of related experience within an OPO. Must process exceptional writing, proof-reading, communications, critical thinking and organizational skills. Excellent interpersonal, customer service and problem-solving skills required.

Donor Family Advocate
The donor/family advocate is the first responder to donor referrals from area hospitals. One hour on-site response time required for Jacksonville area hospitals. Primary responsibility is to offer the option of organ, tissue and eye donation for transplantation or medical research to families of potential donors and obtaining a past medical history. Information is to be articulated in an easily understood and accurate manner to families whose ability to process information is impaired by emotionally traumatic circumstances. Coordinates and facilitates emotional support during and after the discussion of the donation process—remaining aware and sensitive to diversity of all kinds (cultural, religious, educational, etc.) while working with families and hospital staff. Secondary responsibilities are to provide assistance to the local hospital development coordinator in working with the hospitals to solidify the referral process, provide inservices, perform death record reviews, etc. Position requires 15 days per month of on-call duties for 24-7 referral response to hospitals within the Jacksonville area.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in social work, psychology, sociology or related allied health degree preferred with previous experience in an acute health care setting, hospice, bereavement counseling center, patient representative, etc. preferred, or equivalent work experience where there was active involvement in issues involving death, dying, grief and loss. Completion of medical terminology course preferred. Outstanding interpersonal communications skill required for ability to interact with grieving families in a supportive, empathic manner while taking into consideration actual or potential cultural diversities. Ability to comfortably use desktop computer to access and utilize database, draft letters, send/receive email, and access the Internet for vital information/resources to assist donor families.
