The Honorable John Drew, elected Nassau County Tax Collector, is an advocate for organ, tissue and eye donation.
“Living on Amelia Island, I had the opportunity to know the Caples family and had the privilege of watching Katie Caples grow into a fine young lady; then sadly and tragically she lost her life at a young age,” said Drew. “Because of her decision to be an organ and tissue donor, many people’s lives were saved and made better by her gift. My personal friendship with the Caples family and my strong belief in organ donation are what motivate me to support donation and the donor registry.”

Nearly 97 percent of all registry enrollment in Florida comes through license-related transactions from individuals at the department of motor vehicles or tax collector offices. John makes certain that all of his customers are exposed to donation through the materials he makes available in his offices and are given an opportunity to enroll on the donor registry.
“My staff and I are committed to doing all we can to promote Donate Life,” Drew said.
